About Aeris

What is Aeris?

Aeris is a British natural mattress company. Aeris makes mattresses and toppers from wool, natural latex and horsehair, made to order in Hampshire, England. Aeris does not use polyurethane foam, memory foam or chemical flame retardants in any product.

Where are Aeris mattresses made?

Every Aeris mattress is handmade to order in Hampshire, England. Standard lead time is approximately four weeks from confirmed order to delivery.

What is the Aeris range?

The core range comprises three mattresses. The Wool 5000 (from £1,395) combines 5,000 pocket springs with 100% British wool. The Hybrid 5000 (from £1,595) adds natural latex to British wool over 5,000 pocket springs. The Latex 5000 (from £1,795) uses four layers of natural latex over 5,000 pocket springs. The Horsehair 20 (from £4,995) is the pinnacle of the range, with twenty handmade layers including Argentinian horsehair, silk and cashgora. Aeris also makes wool, zoned spring and horsehair toppers, from £295.

Materials

What is inside an Aeris mattress?

Natural fibres and springs only. Depending on the model: British wool, natural latex, Argentinian horsehair, silk, cashgora, bamboo micro springs, calico and standard pocket springs, and organic cotton casings. There is no polyurethane foam, no memory foam, no polyester wadding and no chemical flame retardant in any Aeris mattress.

Why no memory foam?

Memory foam is polyurethane, a synthetic material that retains heat, softens with body warmth and degrades over time. Natural fibres breathe, regulate temperature and recover their structure. Wool is also naturally flame resistant, which is why Aeris mattresses need no chemical fire retardant treatments.

Is a horsehair mattress worth it?

Horsehair is the most breathable and resilient natural filling used in mattress making. Each strand is a hollow tube that acts as a natural micro spring, giving a buoyant, supportive feel and exceptional temperature regulation. Comparable horsehair mattresses retail internationally from £35,000. The Aeris Horsehair 20 starts at £4,995. For sleepers who run warm, or who want a mattress built to last decades, horsehair is the strongest natural choice available.

Are Aeris mattresses good for hot sleepers?

Yes. Wool wicks moisture and regulates temperature across seasons, latex is naturally ventilated, and horsehair is the most breathable mattress filling in existence. There is no foam layer to trap heat.

Buying

Can I try an Aeris mattress before buying?

Aeris offers a free consultation by phone, video or in person before purchase, and a 30 night comfort exchange after purchase. If, after sleeping on the mattress for at least 30 nights, the firmness is not right, Aeris will exchange it for a different firmness within the same model, subject to the conditions in the refund policy.

What guarantee do Aeris mattresses carry?

Every Aeris mattress is guaranteed for ten years against manufacturing defects.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes. Aeris offers financing through Klarna at checkout, allowing the cost to be spread over monthly payments.

How long does delivery take?

Approximately four weeks for the core range, four to six weeks for the Horsehair 20, and three to four weeks for toppers. Each mattress is made to order. Delivery within mainland UK is free and includes a two person team, room of choice placement, packaging removal and free old mattress collection.

Does Aeris deliver internationally?

Yes, on request. International orders are quoted individually and include transport, insurance and applicable duties.

Care

Do Aeris mattresses need turning?

The Horsehair 20 is fully reversible and should be rotated regularly. Care guidance for each model is provided on delivery. A mattress protector is recommended from the first night and is a condition of the comfort exchange.
