THE FOUNDER

Founded by an architect.

Sleep is architecture. The mattress is the foundation. The materials are the structure. The construction is the craft.

Hannah Thomas, founder of Aeris

Aeris was founded by an architect who applied the same principles to sleep that govern the design of buildings: structure, materials, and honesty.

As an architect, the founder understood that what goes inside a structure matters more than what is visible on the surface. A building is only as good as its foundations, its insulation, its airflow. A mattress is no different.

The mattress industry has become unnecessarily confusing. Layers of marketing language obscure what is actually inside the product. Comfort ratings, proprietary foam names, and branded technologies make it nearly impossible for a customer to understand what they are sleeping on, or whether it is good for them.

Every material is named. Every layer is specified.

There is nothing hidden and nothing synthetic.

What is inside matters.

THE INDUSTRY PROBLEM

Most mattresses sold online today are made primarily from polyurethane foam, memory foam, and synthetic fabrics treated with chemicals. These materials can off-gas volatile organic compounds into the sleep environment, creating an invisible chemical layer between the body and rest.

The body does its most critical work during sleep. Hormonal regulation, cellular repair, immune function, and deep REM cycles all depend on uninterrupted, temperature regulated rest. Sleeping in a breathable, chemical free environment supports these natural processes rather than working against them.

THE AERIS APPROACH

Aeris mattresses contain no synthetic foam, no polyurethane, and no synthetic chemicals. Every layer is a natural material: British wool, natural latex, cotton, silk, cashgora, and pocket springs.

Wool naturally regulates temperature, wicking moisture away from the body throughout the night. Natural latex provides responsive support without trapping heat. Pocket springs allow airflow through the mattress core. Together, these materials create a sleep environment that stays cool, dry, and clean.

01

Temperature regulation

Wool and natural latex regulate body temperature throughout the night, reducing the disruptions that prevent deep sleep. Synthetic foam traps heat. Natural materials release it.

02

Chemical free sleep

No VOC off-gassing. No synthetic chemicals. No polyurethane. The body is not designed to sleep in a chemical environment. Removing synthetic materials removes that burden.

03

Breathability and recovery

Airflow through natural fibres and pocket springs keeps the sleep surface dry and ventilated. A cooler, drier environment supports deeper sleep cycles, hormonal balance, and physical recovery.

HANDMADE IN ENGLAND

Every Aeris mattress is made to order in England by one of the country's most respected bed makers, established in 1946. Each mattress is built by hand, one at a time, using techniques refined over decades.

The name Aeris comes from the Latin for air. Reflecting the breathability at the heart of every product. From the wool that regulates temperature to the springs that support without trapping heat, every layer is designed to let the body rest naturally.

The best way to understand an Aeris mattress is a conversation.
